Sharon and Noel have recently returned from Tunisia where their cruising yacht 'Roaring Meg' has been laid up for winter in Port Yasmine d'Hammamet. Noel sailed the yacht from Spain via the Straits of Messina to Crete. Sharon joined him at this point after closing the restaurant for their Annual Holidays during the month of August. Thereafter, they sailed through the Greek Islands and the Corinth Canal to reach Lefkas in the Ionian Islands group, this being the 'jump off' point' to cross the Ionian Sea.
The 48 hour sail to
Siracusa
(Sicily) produced two large yellow fin tuna from a trolling lure. The voyage continued to Malta, (steeped in history and a must see!) with the final destination being Tunisia. The total voyage was 2100 nautical miles.
